TSIBA Business School is a private higher education institution based in Cape Town that has been teaching since 2004. It is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private higher education institution under the Higher Education Act, 1997, on registration certificate number 2007/HE08/001, and it states that it is also registered with the Council on Higher Education as an accredited private higher education institution. Unusually for a private provider, it is registered as a non-profit and public benefit organisation, and it describes itself as part of a wider social enterprise that also takes in an Ignition Academy and an education trust.
Teaching is done face to face on campus, supported by live online sessions and self-paced work between classes. The postgraduate diploma is delivered in the same blended way. The institution states that it does not offer distance learning, and that its campus is non-residential, so no student accommodation is provided. Part-time classes run on weekday evenings from 16:00 to 19:00, Monday to Thursday, and on Saturday mornings from 09:00 to 14:00.
The main campus is at 51 Old Mill Road in Ndabeni, Cape Town, a property the institution announced in 2022 that it had bought and would move into, from earlier premises in Woodstock. A second address, a serviced office in Rosebank, Johannesburg, is listed on the contact page and on several programme pages.
Qualifications run from NQF level 5 to NQF level 8. They are a Higher Certificate in Business Administration (NQF level 5, SAQA ID 84186), a Bachelor of Business Administration (NQF level 7, SAQA ID 61469), a Diploma in ICT (NQF level 6) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (NQF level 8, SAQA ID 118548). Short courses in project management, business coaching and mentoring, business administration and small-business tax are also offered. Undergraduate entry is by National Senior Certificate with the matching endorsement plus a minimum score on the institution's own points system, and recognition of prior learning is open to older applicants for up to a tenth of a cohort.
On cost, the institution states that undergraduate tuition is subsidised by an average of 65 per cent, and it publishes annual fees for each programme together with discounts for paying upfront, a ten-month instalment option and a student loan partner. Applications are made online and carry a non-refundable application fee of R100.
