Richfield

Richfield is a private higher education institution registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training under registration number 2000/HE07/008, and its qualifications are accredited by the Council on Higher Education and registered on the National Qualifications Framework by the South African Qualifications Authority. Trading as Richfield, the institution's full registered name is Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology (Pty) Ltd, and it has been operating in South Africa for more than 35 years. Teaching is organised into two faculties, Information Technology and Business Science, and takes place both on campus and through 100 percent online delivery.

Richfield has eight campuses. Four are in Gauteng, at Bryanston, Newtown Junction and Centurion, and in Pretoria's city centre. Two are in KwaZulu-Natal, at Umhlanga and Musgrave in Durban. One is in Cape Town's city bowl, in the Western Cape, and one is in Polokwane, Limpopo. Qualification levels offered range from Higher Certificates and Diplomas through Bachelor's degrees, Bachelor Honours degrees and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management, up to a Master of Business Administration. The Bachelor of Commerce is formally endorsed by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, giving graduates a route toward the AGA(SA) and CA(SA) designations.

Entry requirements are pegged to the level of National Senior Certificate endorsement a school-leaver holds: a Higher Certificate endorsement for Higher Certificate study, a Diploma endorsement for Diploma study, and a Bachelor's endorsement for degree study, with some degrees also setting subject-level minimums. A non-refundable application fee of R300 applies, and accepted first-year students pay a R1,500 registration fee that is credited toward their first year's tuition. Richfield is not an NSFAS-registered institution, so students rely on the institution's own merit- and need-based bursaries or on their own funding. Applications for the 2027 academic year opened on 1 September 2026, with no published closing date; students are encouraged to apply early as places fill up campus by campus.
