Henley Business School Africa is a private business school with a single campus in Paulshof, Johannesburg. It forms part of the University of Reading in the United Kingdom, and its own site describes the school as backed by more than thirty years of operation in Africa. Every qualification it offers is registered with the South African Qualifications Authority, and the school holds accreditation from AACSB, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, alongside three further international business school accreditations.
Teaching is blended. Most programmes combine contact days on the Johannesburg campus with online study, and several run as parallel cohorts so that a student can choose a mostly face-to-face or a mostly online route. Henley also runs corporate and short-course activity from a Cape Town base, although it does not publish a street address for that location. The qualification range starts with a Work Readiness Programme and a Higher Certificate in Management Practice at NQF Level 5, moves through an Advanced Certificate in Management Practice at NQF 6 and an Advanced Diploma in Management Practice at NQF 7, and continues to a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Practice at NQF 8, a Master of Business Administration at NQF 9, and a Doctor of Business Administration. The MBA runs in two formats: a Flexible Executive programme spread over thirty months, and a Global Executive programme of twenty-four months built around international immersions. Alongside these sit executive education and short courses in leadership, strategy, finance for non-financial managers, coaching and digital skills.
Entry is built around work and management experience combined with an existing qualification rather than school results, so most programmes are aimed at adults already in a job. Applicants must show competence in English, which is the language of instruction, and those without the formal entry qualification may apply through Recognition of Prior Learning by submitting a portfolio of evidence. Henley charges no application fee and no acceptance deposit on any qualification, though an RPL application carries an external assessment cost. The school is not part of NSFAS; students pay through instalment plans agreed with the school, employer sponsorship, or education finance from providers including Capitec and Standard Bank.
