Regent Business School

REGENT Business School is a private higher education institution established in 1998 and headquartered in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. It is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private higher education institution, and its programmes are accredited by the Higher Education Quality Committee of the Council on Higher Education, with qualifications recorded on the National Qualifications Framework by the South African Qualifications Authority. REGENT also states that its qualifications are recognised or accredited by higher education regulators in Namibia and Mauritius, reflecting learning centres it operates outside South Africa, and that its Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting is endorsed by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. REGENT describes itself as a member of several international business-school networks and of the Honoris United Universities group, a network of private higher education institutions operating across Africa, and states that it is a B-BBEE Level 1 contributor.

Teaching is offered full-time, part-time and online, using a blended approach that combines online learning with classroom-based instruction. Besides its Durban head office, REGENT runs learning centres in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, East London and Gqeberha, as well as centres in Eswatini and Namibia.

The institution focuses on business, management and entrepreneurship education. Its qualification range runs from Higher Certificates through Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas and Bachelor's degrees to Postgraduate Diplomas, Honours degrees, a Master of Business Administration (including a healthcare management specialisation) and a Doctor of Business Administration, alongside short learning programmes for workplace training. Subject areas include accounting, financial management, business administration, human resource management, supply chain management, digital business, project management, Islamic finance and banking, retail management, public administration and educational management and leadership. Entry requirements differ by qualification level and programme.

Applications are submitted through an online portal, with no application fee charged, though a registration fee applies once a place is accepted; REGENT states that applications are typically processed within seven to ten working days. Tuition fees vary by qualification level and mode of study, and REGENT publishes annual fee schedules covering cash prices as well as 3-, 6- and 9-month instalment options for each programme.
