The Animation School Open Day @ Cape Town Campus

The Animation School's Cape Town Open Day is a two-hour interactive session at its campus in Woodstock. Arrive at 10:30 for an 11:00 start. The session covers the South African animation industry, the school's three-year Diploma in Digital Animation, and how to apply. You can see student work, and there is time to ask questions. The school also says the Open Day is a chance to tour the campus facilities.

The day is aimed at learners in Grades 10 to 12 who are interested in animation, and families are invited to come along. Parents and older students thinking about a creative career may also find it useful.

You need to register, so book your spot before you go. Bring your questions with you. To apply, the school asks for a National Senior Certificate with at least 50% in three fundamental subjects, including English. It also asks for a portfolio of artwork for assessment. The Open Day is a good time to ask what that portfolio should include.

The campus is at 42 Searle Street in Woodstock, close to the Cape Town city centre. Plan your route and travel time before the day.
