AFDA Open Day

AFDA opens its doors on Saturday, 10 October 2026, from 10:00 to 13:00. The open day runs at five campuses at the same time: Johannesburg (Auckland Park), Cape Town (Observatory), Durban (Glen Anil), Gqeberha (Central) and Hatfield in Tshwane. Choose the one closest to you.

On the day you can explore AFDA's programmes, walk around the campus and meet the AFDA community. AFDA says its team will talk you through bursaries, study loans and other funding options, and answer questions about how to apply. You can also find out about the new Bachelor of Fine Arts and Design, which AFDA plans to start in 2027 at its Johannesburg and Cape Town campuses. It mixes drawing, painting and photography with newer tools such as AI and extended reality.

The day suits matric learners, school-leavers, adults thinking about a creative career, and parents helping someone choose. Entry is free, but you must book a ticket on Quicket first.
