Red & Yellow Creative School of Business is a private school in Cape Town that teaches marketing, design, business and technology. It was founded in 1994 by a group of advertising leaders who wanted to close the gap between what graduates were learning at university and what employers needed them to be able to do. It is a member institution of Honoris United Universities, and its qualifications are accredited by the Council on Higher Education. Two South African companies sit behind the school: Red and Yellow Creative School of Business (Pty) Ltd, registration number 1981/004876/07, and Red and Yellow Digital (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2012/206121/07.
Teaching happens in two ways. Full-time study takes place at the school's single campus, on the second floor of 97 Durham Avenue in Salt River, Cape Town, where students have lecture halls, a photography studio, an audio booth, two computer labs and a library with electronic books through EBSCO. The rest of the offering is studied online through a Moodle learning platform, and this includes part-time versions of several qualifications aimed at people who are already working.
Qualifications run from higher certificates at NQF level 5, such as the Higher Certificate in Graphic Design, through advanced diplomas and three-year degrees at NQF level 7, such as the Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing, up to honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas. Subjects cluster around marketing, design, management and leadership, technology, creative communications and strategy. Short courses and shorter micro courses run alongside the formal qualifications, and the school also builds training, learnerships and bursary partnerships for employers.
Entry requirements depend on the level of study. The Higher Certificate in Graphic Design asks for a National Senior Certificate or a National Certificate (Vocational) with at least 40% for English, certified by Umalusi. The Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing asks for a National Senior Certificate with a bachelor's pass, an APS of 26, at least 50% for English, and either 50% for Mathematics or 65% for Mathematical Literacy. On-campus programmes began on 16 February 2026, with later intakes listed for February and March 2027. Fees are quoted on enquiry rather than published. Short courses can be paid off in instalments through Payfast, and Student Hero, Capitec, Nedbank and Manati are listed as education finance partners for longer qualifications.
