AAA School of Advertising is a private higher education institution registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training under certificate number 2000/HE07/015. It was set up in 1990 by the Association of Advertising Agencies, the advertising industry's professional body at the time, which now goes by the name Association for Communication and Advertising. The school's programmes cover marketing, advertising, brand communication and visual design, and the school states that its qualifications are also accredited by the International Advertising Association.

Classes run on two campuses. The Johannesburg campus, which is also the head office, is in The Braes Office Park in Bryanston, and the Cape Town campus is on Long Street in the city centre. Several programmes are offered online as well, and all lecture material and assignments sit on the Moodle learning platform. Students who register for a full-time programme receive a tablet with a data SIM card, and full-time students in their final year complete a four-week internship.

Qualifications run from NQF level 5 to level 9. One-year Higher Certificates are offered in Marketing Communication and Visual Communication on campus, and in Digital Marketing online. Three-year Diplomas are offered in Marketing Communication and Visual Communication. The Bachelor of Arts is offered in Marketing Communication and in Creative Brand Communication, with the online Marketing Communication degree spread over four years for working people. Postgraduate study consists of a one-year online BA Honours in Digital Marketing and a two-year online Master of Digital Marketing. A four-month short course in media planning and buying is also listed.

For a degree, applicants need a National Senior Certificate with a degree endorsement, an APS of 24 with Mathematics or 25 with Mathematical Literacy, and 50% for the language of instruction. Most on-campus Diplomas and Higher Certificates ask for a diploma endorsement and an APS of 20. Applicants aged 23 or older who attempted matric may be considered under a mature age exemption, and work experience can count towards recognition of prior learning.

Tuition for 2027 can be paid upfront at a discount or in twelve monthly instalments, with the first instalment due on 1 February 2027, and the application fee is not refundable. For funding, the school points students to Student Hero, a platform where they can compare and apply for study loans, and names Capitec, Nedbank and Fundi among its finance partners.
