Two Oceans Graduate InstituteTOGI

Two Oceans Graduate Institute, known as TOGI, is a private provider of teacher education based in Pinelands, Cape Town, delivering all of its qualifications fully online. The institute holds provisional registration as a private higher education institution from the Department of Higher Education and Training, granted in February 2017 under registration number 2017/HE08/001 and valid to 31 December 2026. Its qualifications are accredited by the Council on Higher Education and registered with the South African Qualifications Authority.

TOGI's whole qualification range sits within teacher training. It offers a Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching, for those wanting to teach Grade R to 3; a Bachelor of Education in Intermediate Phase Teaching, for Grade 4 to 7; a Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Teaching, for Grade 7 to 12; and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Teaching, aimed at people who already hold a diploma or degree and want to add a teaching qualification. The three Bachelor of Education degrees run from NQF Level 5 through to an NQF Level 7 exit level, over a minimum of four years full time or six years part time. The Postgraduate Certificate in Education is an NQF Level 7 qualification of 130 credits, completed in a minimum of one year full time or two years part time.

Entry to the Bachelor of Education programmes calls for a National Senior Certificate with the relevant endorsement, or an NQF Level 4 National Certificate (Vocational), with minimum subject marks that vary by teaching specialisation; the Postgraduate Certificate in Education requires an existing diploma or bachelor's degree. Teaching runs through an online learning management system that combines scheduled and self-paced classes. TOGI does not publish tuition fees on its website. It does not offer NSFAS funding and instead points prospective students toward external bursary and loan providers. A non-refundable application fee is payable before an application can be submitted.
