IIE Rosebank International

IIE Rosebank International is an education brand owned by The Independent Institute of Education (Pty) Ltd, and until May 2026 it traded as Rosebank College. The Independent Institute of Education is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private higher education institution under the Higher Education Act of 1997, its programmes are accredited by the Council on Higher Education, and its qualifications are registered by the South African Qualifications Authority on the National Qualifications Framework. The institute also holds international accreditation from the British Accreditation Council.

Teaching happens in three ways: full-time contact classes on campus, blended learning that mixes campus attendance with online study, and fully online distance study. The institution's own welcome page dates its delivery of tertiary education from 2012. Campuses are published in Braamfontein, Pretoria CBD, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Mbombela, Nelson Mandela Bay and Polokwane, with an online campus listed alongside them.

Study is arranged into six faculties covering commerce, finance and accounting, law, education, humanities and social science, and information and communications technology. Qualifications run from higher certificates and diplomas through advanced diplomas and bachelor's degrees to postgraduate certificates and postgraduate diplomas, all awarded in the name of The Independent Institute of Education.

Admission generally requires a National Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification, with the detailed requirements differing by qualification. Applicants schooled outside South Africa must have their qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority and hold a valid study visa. Applying happens in two steps, an application for admission followed by registration for modules, and an application fee is payable. The 2026 academic year began on 16 February 2026, with registration closing at the end of February.

Funding is private. The institution states that it offers no bursaries of its own and does not accept National Student Financial Aid Scheme students, being a private institution. External bursaries and study loans are accepted, fees may be settled upfront or in monthly instalments, and separate fee schedules are published for groups of campuses and for online study.
