Undergraduate Open Day

Stellenbosch University opens its Stellenbosch and Tygerberg campuses to Grade 11 and 12 learners, their parents, teachers and guidance counsellors. The university describes the day as a chance to view exhibitions, attend demonstrations and information sessions, and engage with faculty staff, while experiencing the campuses, the student communities and the available housing options.

It suits anyone choosing subjects, comparing degrees, or trying to picture what studying away from home would feel like. The two campuses run on the same day at the same times but sit in different towns, so you would need to choose one. Most faculties are on the Stellenbosch campus in Stellenbosch Central, about 50 km from Cape Town. Medicine and Health Sciences is at the Tygerberg campus in Bellville, about 20 km from central Cape Town.

Before you go, write down the programmes you are interested in and read their admission requirements, so your time on the day goes to the questions a website cannot answer. For the 2026 open day the university asked visitors to book a free ticket, with separate bookings for each campus, so check the university's open day page before you travel.
